  Aegion occupies one of the finest territories of Corinthian gulf. It placed at northwest part of Peloponnese in Axaia prefecture, Aegialian province. Is the second largest and second most important city of Achaia, capital of Aegialia & Kalavrita province. Geographically you can find it in 38ο 15' north and 19ο 45,30' east from Paris meridian. Population is about 30.000 peoples including outskirts villages. Aegio has been enlarged since the "Kapodistias" law, including new city departments. The new villages are: Valimitica, Dafnes, Digeliotica, Kouloura, Koumari, Kounina, Mavriki, Melissa, Paraskevi, Pteri, Selinous, Temeni, and Chatji.
  Bigger cities near Aegion are: Patras, Rio and Kalavrita. Other villages in Aegion province are:Kamares, Logos, Rododafni, Laka, Dafnes, Maurikio, Pirgaki, Pteri, Kernitsa, Rizomylos, Temeni, Diakofto, Platanos, Akrata, Krathio etc.
  The city is built been build amphitheatricaly on the coast of the Corinthian gulf, NE from "Chionistra" mountain. Aegion is mainly built on a stony hill altitude about 60m from sea surface giving to the town a slide inclination. Its territorial position is determine between the two rivers Selinous and Meganites. The city has been spread to three planes, the beach, the "galaksidiotika" (St. Andrea) and the up town. The upper main town build on stony rock and the seaside habitation, on a narrow strip of land lays from the village Mirtia to St. Nicholas and to the Aliki lake.
